I am a skilled, motivated individual originally from New York City and currently living in Bruxelles. Throughout the years, I have developed a great deal of professional experience within the educational sector. I have taught beginner through advanced level English to business clients which has given me great experience strengthening my instructional and presentation skills. I have constructed lesson plans for Belgian, Dutch and many other international employees from Fortis, KLM, KCS, Amsterdam Police Department, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Imtech, World Trade Center, IND/CWI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Cleopatra. In addition to Business English, I have developed experience teaching students in their early teens to 20's, mainly from Latin America, Japan, Africa, and parts of Europe, and have taught a Marketing and Public Relations course at a local college in Amsterdam, Holland. I teach with an all communicative-functional language approach. My objective is based on the needs of the learner. If, for example your focus is on pronunciation and vocabulary, then my objective will be to teach you basic to more complex vocabulary that you will need in everyday English (whether it be writing, speaking, reading, listening), and pronunciation techniques that you would be able to employ at home as well. Furthermore, I feel that primary interaction and communication is essential for learning any language. Thus teaching English from a functional standpoint (e.g., phrases, key words, sentences, tactics/strategies that are essential for learning English) is just as important.
